The Paddock celebrates Saleen at Monterey Car Week

The Paddock as a standalone event, is a brand-new, one day celebration of car culture, bringing a new centre of attraction to Monterey Car Week in the US this August. The event is centred around non-Italian cars, and incorporates the popular Radwood.

With The Paddock, the International Car Week company spins off a part of Concorso Italiano to become an event of its own. “For years, Concorso Italiano has offered a non-Italian marque display. Now, we are offering an expanded version through The Paddock where owners of European, Japanese, American, and other automotive pedigrees can display their prized vehicles,” says Tanya Kosta, Chairman of The Paddock.

25 Years of Saleen S7

On the lawn of the Bayonet Black Horse golf course, with the Pacific Ocean glistening in the background, The Paddock promises to showcase a wide range of exciting cars, with room for both racing cars and road cars. One of the first themes the organisers have announced, is the 25th anniversary of the Saleen S7, which became one of the more unusual entrants in the GT1 class in GT racing in the early 2000s. Several dozen owners of Saleen S7s will show their cars.

Radwood, the wildly popular 80s and 90s automotive lifestyle event, brings the party to The Paddock as well. “Expect to see supercars, both domestic and import, and a live DJ set,” Art Cervantes, co-founder and Director of Radwood states. Dressing up in 80s and 90s vintage outfit is encouraged, and organisers are looking to welcome more vehicles from the 1980-1999 era to come to the Bayonet Black Horse.

The Paddock is scheduled on August 15, doors opening at 3 PM. The organisers stress they want to have affordable ticket prices, so as to encourage as many families with children to come. Further displays and themes will be announced at a later date.
