Jackermeier steers ex-Vettel F1 to first win in Boss GP

Thomas Jackermeier took his first win in the Boss GP series in his ex-Sebastian Vettel Toro Rosso STR3 in the Brno-round in the Czech Republic.

The German driver excelled in treacherous conditions in both Boss GP races at the Brno track, famous for the MotoGP races. Jackermeier took his Ferrari V8-powered STR3, a car raced by Sebastian Vettel in its active career in Fomula 1, to two straight wins in difficult conditions. “The limit is narrow here, but you notice quickly,” he beamed at the finish. Jackermeier held off Austrian Ingo Gerstl, who preferred focusing on his championship lead in his STR1 in the F1 class.

Formula Class

In the Formula Class, all the drivers opted to stay out on slicks after rain came down on the warm-up lap of the first race. In difficult circumstances, Italian Simone Colombo won in front of his countryman Marco Ghiotto. In the second race on Sunday, the roles were reversed when Ghiotto passed Colombo in the final corner. Ghiotto, the defending champion, thus keeps himself in the title race for 2022 as well.

Super Lights Class
