Vesco makes it six Mille Miglia wins

Scuderia Villa Trasqua’s Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli recorded their sixth Mille Miglia-win last weekend. This edition of the Mille Miglia was the longest yet, with a parcours covering 2200 kilometres in five days.

Andrea Vesco drove to his sixth Mille Miglia win, of which the last four have been consecutive victories. He was assisted by Fabio Salvinelli, for whom this was the third Mille triumph. In their 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato, the Scuderia Villa Trasqua duo led almost from start to finish. It was only at the end of day 1 that the duo had to acknowledge Fontanella and Covelli in their 1929 Lancia Lambda Spider Type 221 in front of them.

Ladies’ Cup

Ultimately, Fontanelli and Covelli finished the 2023 Mille Miglia in second place overall, followed by Belometti and Bergomi in a similar Lancia Lambda. The Ladies’ Cup went to Silvia Marini and Irene Dei Tos, who navigated their 1929 Bugatti Type 40 to 27th overall. This year, the first seven places went to all-Italian crews driving all-Italian cars.
