Italian artist Stefano Notargiacomo<\/a> not only creates some rather spectacular looking trophies from old car parts, he also produces some rather crafty design elements that will enlighten your home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GT3 Cup lamp<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a world where recycling is all too often interpreted as \u2018throw it away somewhere else\u2019, Roman artist Stefano Notargiacomo really proves to be different. Now, there is of course no industrial \u2018save the planet\u2019 model behind it, but what Notargiacomo does, really extends the life of old parts. Look at these suspension parts and brake calliper from a racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for example. They have grown into a very unique looking desk lamp that, let\u2019s face it, we all would love in our studies. All creations are handmade. For the desk lamps, Notargiacomo likes to work with Lar \u2013 Lavori Artigianali Romani in Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Elegant waste’<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not just lamps, but coffee tables built on engine blocks are available as well, or a desk box. \u201cItaly is famous for its prestigious cars. For me, even what is considered waste of these cars is something vibrant and elegant to me. This is how I started giving spare parts a second life, I aimed to keep that legend alive. I wanted to do that by giving them a new purpose in a way that you could keep hearing the engine roar at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
