It\u2019s a most unlikely of combinations, but these retro-themed surfboards British firm Surfing Slicks produce are cool. Subzero cool.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we don\u2019t surf. But with a deep green-tinted BRM surfboard tucked under our arm, we do see us valiantly striding towards the waves at Nazar\u00e9, Portugal. Not that we\u2019d be any good, but we would have the best-looking board in the water, wouldn\u2019t we?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overlap between racing and surfing is not easy to make, but \u2013 out of stubbornness we guess – Surfing Slicks has managed to make it work. They have created a series of special liveries, each instantly recognisable. Working under official licences from BRM, Lotus, Vanwall, AAR, Tyrrell and others, there is no shortage of significant themes in the Surfing Slicks collection. A Hesketh Racing, James Hunt-themed seventies surfboard is of course the most fitting of homages to racing\u2019s king of cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Custom-made<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s not just a paint job. These surfboards are created, following the style of the era they depict. They are built in the UK. In our case, they would probably come in handy as wall decorations, which \u2013 let\u2019s face it \u2013 would look pretty cool as well. And they take up less space than cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coincidentally, it\u2019s not just the current fifty designs that make it hard to choose from. You can also order a fully custom-made design. That\u2019s kind of cool when you are at a race weekend in, say, Estoril or Portimao in Portugal, where the seaside is just on the other side of the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
