The Concorso d\u2019Eleganza at Villa d\u2019Este will be all about 100 years Le Mans and 75 years of Porsche in 2023. And the public event at Villa Erba on Sunday returns.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you couldn\u2019t make it to Villa d\u2019Este this year, let\u2019s fill you in. Traditionally, the Concorso consists of two parts. One is the Concours which is traditionally held within the grounds of the Villa d\u2019Este at Lake Como, Italy. It\u2019s an exclusive and closely guarded affair. If you want to be there, it will cost you a serious amount of euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Villa Erba is back<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In contrast, on Sunday, the cars from the Concorso move to the nearby Villa Erba on Sunday for a much more accessible event. Yes, it costs you money as well, but far less than Villa d\u2019Este for surroundings that are almost as beautiful. Only last year, Concorso owner BMW decided to scrap the Villa Erba event and replace it with an alternative program. Whilst not half bad, the traditional Villa Erba part of Concorso, it was not. Hence, it comes as no surprise that in 2023, the Villa Erba part of Concorso is back in the program, together with the other events that were new in 2022. A very interesting mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

100 years Le Mans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, regarding the program itself, Concorso focuses on the most essential birthday of 2023: 100 years of Le Mans. Since in theory, Concorso is only for privately-owned cars, we are already looking forward to what Concorso will bring in this category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

75 years of Porsche<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The other important anniversary in 2023 is the 75 years of Porsche. Concorso is an event owned by BMW, but as one of the main Concours in the world, it is a clear sign of respect for the Concorso<\/a> history that BMW considers this just as important an anniversary as any other would. Especially with Porsche moving in on BMW\u2019s turf with the Fuoriconcorso program, this is an interesting move. And again, we are very much looking forward to the cars we will see assembled on the Villa d\u2019Este grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, BMW has only confirmed one other theme, and that is Maharaja cars. We are looking forward to discovering this little-known aspect of motoring history, in Europe and the States at least.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
