In 2024, we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ford GT40&#8217;s debut at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The GT40 may be immortal for Henry Ford II&#8217;s line &#8216;let&#8217;s kick Ferrari&#8217;s ass&#8217;, but in reality Ford was served a plate of humble pie, with transmission problems sidelining all three entered GT40s. Yet, the potential was clear for all to see.<\/p>\n<p>You can read the whole story about the Ford GT40&#8217;s Le Mans debut in 1964 and 1965 in Tazio 11. We have asked Rafael Varela to sketch us his take on the early GT40 and he came up with this.
