Our famous columnist looks back on that day in 1973 that changed his career.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jacky Ickx<\/strong> talks Moby Dick, \u2018Baby\u2019 935 and how he took Porsche and the 911 into the desert in the Paris \u2013 Dakar rally.<\/li>\n<li>In 1966, <strong>Eberhard Mahle<\/strong> was the first driver to take a championship in a 2-litre 911. In his red 911, we go back to the <strong>Schauinsland<\/strong> hill climb in Germany, where Mahle won the <strong>European hill climb championship<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>We tear up and down the world\u2019s most famous driveway in front of <strong>Goodwood House<\/strong> in R7, the 1973 <strong>Martini Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0<\/strong> that claimed fourth overall at <strong>Le Mans<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It does not get more impressive than this. Behind the wheel of the 1997 <strong>Porsche GT1 Evo<\/strong>, the car that looked like it was set to win Le Mans until\u2026<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Carrera Cup<\/strong> is the cornerstone of Porsche\u2019s commitment to racing with the 911. We drive the ones that started it all, the 964 and the 993. With <strong>Harald Grohs<\/strong>, we look back on these, the last of the air-cooled Cup cars.<\/li>\n<li>Porsche did not have the best of track records at the <strong>N\u00fcrburgring 24 Hours<\/strong>, run on the mythical Nordschleife. That was, until Manthey Racing got serious. With first the \u2018Dicke\u2019 996 and later with <strong>Grello<\/strong>, a new myth was born.<\/li>\n<li>Porsche 911 S Safari. In 1971, <strong>Bj\u00f6rn Waldegaard<\/strong> spearheaded Porsche\u2019s first big effort to win the gruelling <strong>East African Safari rally<\/strong>. The Swede was leading until he crashed out. His <strong>911 S<\/strong> was considered lost for many years, until German restorer Ingo Stimming bought a shell and started uncovering its secrets.<\/li>\n<li><strong>997 R-GT<\/strong>.
