What? You haven’t started planning your motorsport season yet? Here are this year’s dates for Goodwood.

Goodwood is gearing up for another fabulous season, the year after the 75th anniversary of the opening of the legendary circuit in Sussex.

First up is the 81st Members’ Meeting (13 – 14 April). Accessible to members of the Goodwood Road Racing Club only, the meeting offers the benefit of being one of the more tranquil events you’ll be able to enjoy. Both the Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival attract in the hundreds of thousands of motorsport fans.

New house captains… and Jamie Chadwick

One of the charms of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting is the added competition element between the drivers. Each belongs to a house – Hogwarts-style – and score is being kept during the races. This year, there is a change of the guard, as all four houses get new captains. There is Tom Kristensen for Darnley Hose. Andy Priaulx heads Aubigny, Dario Franchitti represents Torbolton and Gordon Sheddon defends the Methuen colours.

Jamie Chadwick, Indy NXT driver for Andretti Motorsport and W Series champion, will make her debut in the new Ken Miles Cup in a Ford Mustang. Next to that, Members’ Meeting also has a Can-Am celebration planned.

Running up the hill

On to July, when the Festival of Speed takes over the driveway next to Goodwood House from July 11th to 14th. The full program will be disclosed at a later date, but traditionally you can count on a large selection of past and current top drivers from Formula 1, WRC, WEC and other world championships demonstrating both legendary race cars and more modern machinery. The Festival of Speed has a habit of selling out fast. Tickets – with an early bird discount up until February 29th – are available here.

Sustainable Revival

Goodwood Revival is scheduled for September 6-8. For this, we move back to the Goodwood circuit. The ambience is part of the Revival’s charm, with many dressing up in period gear. Stylish forties and fifties gear, mind, not your eighties tracksuit, please. Racing brings a mix of pre-war and post-war, both touring and GT cars as well as motorcycles. New this year is that all the participants in the thirteen scheduled races will be using sustainable fuel. Tickets here.
