We are headed for the 81st Goodwood Members’ Meeting. A weekend filled with racing action and Can-Am demo runs is awaiting. Here is a look at what to expect this weekend.
Personally, we are interested in a shed. Members’ Meeting will be the first opportunity to take a look at the original Tyrrell shed that was relocated from Ken Tyrrell’s former Ockham Village timber yard to Goodwood. The shed has been restored and will be open for viewing.

VIP list
Next to that, the 81st Goodwood Members’ Meeting guarantees two days filled with track action on both four wheels and two. Emanuele Pirro looks like he will be having the busiest of weekends, seeing that he is entered in four races, two of them motorbike races. In the Ken Miles Cup – reserved for Ford Mustangs, celebrating 60 years in 2024 – Pirro will be up against our columnist Steve Soper, who is partnered to Ford CEO Jim Farley. With Tom Kristensen, the Franchitti brothers, Matt Neal, Andy Priaulx, Anthony Reid, Neel Jani, Mike Rockenfeller and others on the starting list, close-fought battles are guaranteed.

The real Stig
Another notable name to appear on the starting list, is Stig Blomqvist. At 77, ‘the original Stig’ and 1984 rally world champion, is entered in two races. One is the Gordon Spice Cup for touring cars, where Blomqvist drives a Ford Capri he shares with Nick Jarvis. The other is the Ken Miles Cup where he joins Victor Israelsson in one of the thirty Mustangs entered.

Gerhard Berger – whom we interviewed at length for Tazio 10 – will be present, driving the John Barnard-designed Ferrari 640 Formula 1 he drove in the 1989 season. Chris Goodwin will be driving the McLaren MP4/2B from Niki Lauda’s final Formula 1 season, in 1985.

Can-Am thunder
Undoubtedly, the noisiest demonstration run will take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with a field of 22 cars showcasing Can-Am history from 1966 to 1974. Jackie Oliver will drive one of the Shadows, Timo Bernhard is one of the mighty Porsche 917-30s, the Ferrari 712P will be on the track and there is a variety of Can-Am McLarens and Lolas. Nice, but don’t forget your earplugs.
In total, we are looking at 13 races over the weekend. You can find the list of races here, and if you can’t make it to Goodwood, you can follow the racing action live here.
