Race suits worn by Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton. Helmets from Mike Hailwood, Henri Pescarolo, Dario Franchitti. Or the front wing of Niki Lauda’s 1977 Ferrari 312 T2. It’s all available in a memorabilia auction hosted by Broad Arrow. Some proceeds go to Jackie Stewart’s ‘Race against Dementia’.
The market for racing memorabilia has been blossoming for some time now. So, Broad Arrow’s charity auction couldn’t have come at a better time. The auction – held online – ends on Sunday, May 4th. The proceeds from the sale of Dario Franchitti – a former Paul Stewart Racing protégé and triple Indy 500-winner, go to Jackie Stewart’s ‘Race against Dementia’ is the beneficiary. Stewart, triple world champion in F1, started the cause after his wife Helen was diagnosed with the disease. Funds help advance research.

Lehto visor
Broad Arrow has a total of 130 lots on offer. There are signed books – by Ayrton Senna – gloves, helmets, pistons from a BRM V16 engine, a Cosworth DFV engine block, steering wheels, or signed visors, like this one with a personalized message by JJ Lehto.

Prost overalls
The auction has many original racing suits as well, like the one Alain Prost wore at the 1987 German Grand Prix, noticeable through its absence of tobacco sponsoring. The suit is expected to fetch at least €20,000. A Michael Schumacher overall from 2002 carries an estimate of at least €35,000. You will also find a helmet from the late Justin Wilson in the auction, worn by him when he was a Jaguar F1 driver in the 2003 season.

Pescarolo helmet
Other rarities that caught our eye are the genuine Mike Hailwood helmet, used in his 1974 season with McLaren (estimate: €8000). Also, this auction is your chance to acquire an icon: the famous bright green helmet of Henri Pescarolo. The one on offer here, is a GPA helmet he used in 1972 when driving for Williams in F1. Broad Arrow expects is to reach at least €12,000.
All the lots are offered without reserve.
